Life coaching is very much a part of self-development. It can also focus on achieving goals, building positive relationships or self-esteem. The most important relationship that a person can have is with self because the power is within not outside of self. Discovering why self makes certain choices and the effects of actions and consequences can inspire self to be more conscious and focused when making decisions.

The support of a Life Coach can help self to identify goals and possible outcomes, set plans as to how to put the theory into action, implement the plans to make the goal a reality and reflect on how the completed goal impacted own life and those involved.

It’s important to have some insight into what your needs are and this can be found by spending time alone, identifying what hobbies and activities self enjoys as well as reviewing own skills and experiences.

There are a number of ways that life coaching is offered, in relation to the mind, body and spirit. Life Coaching is about guiding clients to stay focused on achieving set goal, it is not counselling support..

The type of life coaching relating to health and wellbeing include;

– NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

– Wellness Coaching gives clients the opportunity to develop tools and practice to enhance own mind, body, spirit health and wellbeing to live more holistically.

– Skills Coaching involves assessing own skills set and how that can be used to reach set goals.

– Mindfulness Coaching focuses on developing practices to stay present in the now and ways to respond consciously rather than react to situations.

– Health Coaching identifies health solutions to compliment health issues on a holistic level. For example, an overweight person will need to set goals to lose weight by assessing exercise levels, diet and mental state.

– Transformational Life Coaching encourages client to explore own spirituality and remove blockage by embracing relevant techniques, like meditation, hypnotherapy or sound healing, to meet set goals.

– Personal Life Coaching looks at challenges that block progress, whether those they need to be removed from life and why.

Another way to develop self is to connect with like-minded individuals and build a network with those who are living the way that self aspires to live. A health and wellbeing mentor may be a person who is skilled in certain wholistic skills and will support or guide a mentee to develop self-awareness and confidence to try new things. The best investment self can make is in understanding self and developing personal skills to try new activities with a focused goal of living a mentally, physically and spiritually healthier lifestyle. Remember that growth is found outside of own comfort zone!
