Modern society offers consumers a wide range of hair products that claim to develop hair care in one way or another. It’s important to read the ingredients of what is being used in hair because many products contain chemicals and preservatives to extend the products shelf life.

Nature has blessed us with many healing plants that are not only healthy for the internal body but also for the external body like hair and skin. This edition will look at types of plants that can be used for hair care and why.

Many of the plants for haircare can be bought in the form of essential oils but need to be blended with base oils to protect the hair.

The following plants (as essential oils) are best for certain types of hair care:

– Rosemary may increase hair growth by stimulating circulation and hair follicles.

– Lemongrass can be used to treat dandruff.

– Peppermint to prevent hair loss.

– Sunflowers are high in Vitamin E, so help to strengthen hair.

– Lavender soothes the scalp and relieves any itchiness.

– Turmeric, henna, chamomile or beetroot can be used as natural hair dyes.

– Aloe Vera to prevent hair loss.

It’s important to understand that what works on one person’s hair may not work on another person’s hair. The holistic approach is to know your own mind, body and spirit so you know what self needs to operate at best.

Once self knows what own hair needs to maintain its health, then that is motivating to learn more about what hair care self uses and why.

Nature is better because it is easier to understand its properties and how the relevant plant can be used. There are some great natural plant-based products available that can be used as part of a self -care regime that will inspire you to be own best externally (appearance) and internally (by improving blood circulation and follicles).
