When you are feeling in a low mood, overwhelmed or out of balance with yourself, it is important to embrace holistic practices that energise, stimulate and bring you peace. This may be exercising (for example, cycling or yoga) that releases happy hormones like dopamine or being still and meditating can bring peace of mind.
Warmer climates and more sunlight naturally energise self because light uplifts the mind, spirit and inspires self to be more sociable or adventurous.
A great way to be sociable to be your best is to understand what helps you to achieve and find spaces, places and people that you can develop or align with so you learn the importance of self-development and of being in supportive spaces.
If you don’t know what activities naturally energise you, reflect on your interests and try new holistic practices. Make time to treat yourself and do some activity with self-care in mind. Also, removing yourself from activities or people that drain you will help you to prioritise your own needs.
If you are iron deficient, anaemic or live with underlying health conditions, this can cause you to feel fatigued, low energy and moods. It is important to know what your mind, body and spirit is lacking and why so you can replenish yourself as necessary.
A diet with little nutrition and high in sugar will leave you with little energy and may cause inflammation in the body so replace any unhealthy foods with healthy alternatives (to meet your own needs).
Lack of sleep can leave a person tired and low on energy so consciously go to bed early without using devices at least 30 minutes before, try drinking camomile tea and put a little lavender essential oil on your sleeping pillow to relax your mind.
Listening to music that is upbeat and fun can energise and help you to forget what was draining, although sometimes self just needs to rest to restore energy levels.
Energising self is not about doing more, but about being selective and purposeful with activities to be own best.
