The modern world can be draining mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually from external factors, like environments, relationships, workplace or demands, which can be internalised to affect moods or develop into negative thinking and illness. Our own health is connected to the energy given out and received from others. Positive energy evokes upliftment. Negative energy can be disruptive and problematic.

Low moods, tension, anxiety and stress can cause own energy to be off balance or out of control, especially when emotions are involved. Developing own self awareness is a catalyst for being able to identify and recognise any disturbances in own health and wellbeing so necessary solutions can be put in place.

To develop own energy levels, it is important to create own safe spaces to relax and manage stress. Spending time in nature is a great way to appreciate peace and to be present in the here and now which is relaxing.

There are many basic ways to manage own energy not just through physical practices but also by eating healthy foods and drinks (to suit your own health needs). Colour is also therapeutic and brighter colours can uplift mood, energy and confidence. As well as knowing what energy cultivation practices work for you, it’s important to know what practices do not work for you and reflect on all areas of your life.

A lot of simple physical activities help to boost energy like listening to music, walking, running, cycling, team sports or activities. To cultivate energy, it’s important to plan and make time for energy boosting activities, especially to support a known stressful or overwhelming situation.

Energy cultivation is about managing or restoring own inner power and peace. There are many holistic practices that can be part of a healthier lifestyle.

It is recommended to try various holistic energy cultivation practices to find which one suits own needs.

Examples of holistic internal energy cultivation practices are Qi Gong, Breathwork, Tai Chi or Hatha Yoga.
